Sichuan (meaning 'four rivers') province in south west China is one of the provinces to see due to a mixture of breathtaking scenery and varied culture. This province has everything from densely populated agricultural plains to snowcapped peaks and Tibetan high altitude plateau. some of China's better national parks are also here including Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. Away from the scenery there is the world's largest Buddha at Leshan and the experience of Chinese opera in Chengdu, the province's booming capital. Hopefully this province will quickly recover from May 2008's deadly earthquake which killed over 80,000 people and all but wiped out the important tourist industry.
